Where Should I Put a Dried Flower Bouquet in My Home?
Where Should I Put a Dried Flower Bouquet in My Home?

If you’ve just treated yourself to a dried flower bouquet (or you’ve been gifted one!), the next question is always the same…
Where do I actually put it so it looks gorgeous and lasts as long as possible?
The good news is: dried flowers are incredibly easy to style, and they instantly make a room feel warmer, calmer and more put-together. Even better, they’ll last for months and months with barely any effort.
Here are our favourite places to display dried flowers at home, plus a few places we’d avoid if you want them looking their best for as long as possible.
1) The hallway (for instant impact)
If you want your dried flowers to make a statement, the hallway is one of the best places.
A bouquet in the hallway creates that “oh wow” moment the second you walk through the door. It also makes your home feel styled and welcoming without needing loads of décor.
Top tip: Pop your bouquet in a taller vase if it’s going on a console table, so it doesn’t get lost among keys, bags and everyday clutter.
2) The living room (a cosy centrepiece)
Dried flowers are perfect in the living room because they add colour and texture without being overpowering.
Try styling your bouquet:
- on a sideboard
- on a coffee table
- on a windowsill (only if it isn’t in direct sunlight!)
- on a shelf or mantlepiece
If you’re going for a cosy, calm feel, dried flowers work beautifully alongside candles, books, and neutral décor.
3) The kitchen (yes — really!)
This surprises people, but dried flowers can look stunning in a kitchen.
A bouquet on the kitchen table or a breakfast bar adds warmth to a space that’s usually full of practical items.
Best kitchen spots:
- the centre of a dining table
- a corner of the worktop (away from the hob and sink)
- a shelf or dresser
Avoid: placing them right next to the kettle, hob or sink — steam and moisture can shorten their lifespan.
4) The bedroom (for calm, soft vibes)
A small dried bouquet in a bedroom is such an easy way to make the room feel relaxed and finished.
Perfect places include:
- a bedside table
- a dressing table
- a windowsill (again, avoid harsh sunlight)
Dried flowers look especially lovely in bedrooms because they bring softness without needing any upkeep.

5) The bathroom (only if it’s well-ventilated)
This one comes with a little warning.
Bathrooms can be gorgeous for dried flowers, especially if you’re going for that spa-like vibe but the moisture and steam from showers can cause dried flowers to soften or fade faster.
If you want to try it, the best way is:
- keep them away from the shower or bath
- choose a smaller bouquet
- make sure the room is well ventilated
- keep them as far from humidity as possible
6) A home office or workspace (for a mood boost)
If you work from home or you have a desk space, dried flowers are a lovely addition.
They add:
- colour
- texture
- calm energy
- and a little “treat” feeling
Even a small bunch can make your workspace feel more inspiring.
7) The dining table (for effortless styling)
A dried bouquet on the dining table is a classic for a reason. It’s the easiest way to make your home feel styled without needing to change anything else.
Top tip: If you’re hosting, dried flowers are perfect because you don’t need to worry about them drooping halfway through the day.

8) On shelves and bookcases
If you love the “styled shelf” look, dried flowers are perfect for it. A bouquet placed slightly to the side of books, framed prints, candles or ornaments looks effortless but intentional.
This works especially well with:
- pastel bouquets
- neutral, rustic dried mixes
- smaller posies
Where should you NOT put dried flowers?
Dried flowers are low maintenance… but they do have a few enemies!
To keep your bouquet looking beautiful for as long as possible, avoid placing it:
❌ in direct sunlight (it can fade the colours)
❌ next to radiators or fires (heat can make them brittle)
❌ beside sinks, kettles or the hob (moisture/steam)
❌ in very humid bathrooms
❌ anywhere they’ll get knocked often (busy hallways at child-height!)
The best vase for dried flowers. A vase can completely change the look of a bouquet.
For most dried bouquets, we recommend:
- a medium or tall vase
- a narrow or slightly tapered neck (this supports the stems)
- ceramic, glass or textured neutral vases for a timeless look
If your vase is wide, your bouquet can spread too much and lose its shape — so a narrower opening usually gives the prettiest result.
How to keep dried flowers looking fresh
Dried flowers don’t need watering, but they do need a little care.
To keep them looking their best:
- keep them dry
- avoid heat and sunlight
- gently dust them (a soft makeup brush works perfectly!)
- handle them as little as possible
- don’t spray perfume or air freshener near them
Final thoughts
The best thing about dried flowers is that they suit almost every room in the home. Whether you want a big statement bunch in your hallway, something soft in the bedroom, or a cosy pop of colour in the living room, they’re one of the easiest ways to add warmth and personality to your space.
And because they last so long, you can move them around whenever you fancy a little change!
